Teen pregnancy rate lowest since 1969
Over recent years there has been pressure on UK professionals working with young people to reduce the numbers of teenage pregnancies from what has often been cited as the highest levels in Europe. The push has been 2 pronged in terms of information and contraception (sometimes unknown to the parents). There is now some evidence suggesting that some inroads have been made into this social issue.

National youth dance company in arts education review
DfE propose to set up a new national dance company in response to a review of cultural education in England.
I like the idea that they propose a shift in emphasis from PE/English to having the ‘Arts’ play a significant role in young people’s education. Creative expression is extremely therapeutic for young people, especially those with learning or behavioral difficulties.
With the constant push for academic and NEET targets this is a welcome break to allow young people to express themselves, and hopefully enjoy their formative teenage years.
As you can tell I’m a supporter of this in principal. Have a read and let me know what you think.
